Wild Rift ranked runs from Iron to Sovereign across eleven tiers. Instead of LP, you climb with ranked marks: win a game and you gain a mark, lose and you drop one (except in Iron and Bronze, where losses cost nothing). Fill a division's marks and you move up. Ranked fortitude is a second bar that fills when you play well, and when it is full it gives you a loss shield that blocks the next mark loss.
The Wild Rift ranked tiers
Riot's ranked overview lists the tiers from lowest to highest: Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Emerald, Diamond, Master, Grandmaster, Challenger and Sovereign. Iron through Diamond each have four divisions, IV to I.
The number of marks you need per division grows as you climb. These are the values on Riot's ranked marks support page:
| Tier | Divisions | Marks per division | Lose a mark on defeat? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Iron | IV to I | 2 | No |
| Bronze | IV to I | 3 | No |
| Silver | IV to I | 3 | Yes |
| Gold | IV to I | 4 | Yes |
| Platinum | IV to I | 4 | Yes |
| Emerald | IV to I | 5 | Yes |
| Diamond | IV to I | 6 | Yes |
A quick sum shows why the higher tiers feel slow. A full tier of Gold is 4 divisions x 4 marks = 16 net wins. A full tier of Diamond is 4 x 6 = 24 net wins. And from Silver up, every loss takes one of those back.

Master, Grandmaster, Challenger and Sovereign
Riot's ranked marks page says that from Master up there are no divisions. Your marks keep counting up, and each tier starts at a minimum mark total:
| Tier | Minimum ranked marks |
|---|---|
| Master | 1 |
| Grandmaster | 30 |
| Challenger | 60 |
| Sovereign | 100 |
Sovereign is the top tier. Once there, your marks keep rising and the top players compete on a regional leaderboard that resets once per day. Riot lists the leaderboard size as 5,000 players in China, 400 in Asia, and 300 each in the Americas and Europe.
Note that Riot's ranked overview page describes Master and Grandmaster as having three divisions, which does not match the marks page. The marks page is the more detailed of the two, so we follow it here. Check the in-game rank screen if you are close to Master.
Ranked fortitude and loss shields
Ranked fortitude is the bar under your rank emblem. It is how Wild Rift rewards good play beyond the win itself.
How you earn it
Riot says fortitude comes from win streaks, playing well, and playing out a game even when a teammate goes AFK. Quitting a game early can take fortitude away. It is only used in Ranked Queue, not Legendary Queue.
What it does
- Filling the bar gives you one loss shield.
- If you lose while holding a shield, the shield is used instead of a ranked mark.
- You can hold up to 2 loss shields.
- If you fill the bar while already holding 2, the extra shield turns into a bonus ranked mark.
- When a shield is ready, the circle around your rank emblem glows blue.
At the end of a game, marks are settled first, then fortitude, then any full bar turns into a shield.
The size of the bar gets bigger in higher tiers, so shields come less often as you climb. Riot has changed the exact bar sizes between seasons and its own pages do not agree on the current numbers, so we leave them out rather than give you a wrong figure.
Demotion and decay
Demotion
When you run out of marks in a division, the next loss drops you down. In Iron and Bronze this cannot happen, because losses do not remove marks. From Master up, losing all your marks drops you back, with Diamond I and 4 marks as the floor.
Decay
Below Master there is no decay. From Master up, you need to play at least one ranked game every 7 days, or you lose one ranked mark per week.
How to climb faster in Wild Rift
- Protect your fortitude. Never leave games early. Shields save marks you would otherwise need to win back.
- Play out bad games. Fortitude rewards playing on through an AFK teammate, and some of those games still turn around.
- Chain wins in one session. Win streaks feed fortitude. Stop after a couple of losses so you do not burn a shield and then a mark.
- Climb Iron and Bronze quickly. Losses are free there, so it is the cheapest part of the ladder to push through.
If you are stuck, Wild Rift coaching gives you a pro who reviews your games and builds a short champion pool with you. If you want to keep playing your own account, a Wild Rift duo boost puts a pro in your lobby. For a set number of wins rather than a target rank, Wild Rift net wins are priced per win.
A rank boost means a pro from our team plays on your account with appear offline on, and every game is tracked in the live order chat. Riot's support pages say account sharing breaks its Terms of Use and can lead to a permanent ban, so there is always some risk. Duo keeps your login with you and is the lower risk option.
