Rainbow Six Siege ranked explained

Published 28 October 2026 · 7 min read · by the Next Level Boost team

Rainbow Six Siege ranked now runs on Ranked 3.0, which launched with Operation System Override on June 2, 2026. There are eight ranks, Copper, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Emerald, Diamond and Champion, and each has five divisions from V up to I, for 40 steps in total. Hidden MMR is gone: matchmaking uses only your visible Rank Points (RP). Every season starts with 5 placement matches, and after that each match moves your RP based on the result and how your team's rank compared with the enemy's. This guide reflects Y11S3, Operation Split Fire, which started on September 1, 2026.

Champion used to be one open-ended rank. In Ranked 3.0 it has five divisions like everything else. Above it sits the Legend Division, a separate playlist covered further down.

Ubisoft has not published how many RP each division takes under Ranked 3.0, so we do not give a figure here. Your post-match report shows the exact change after every game.

What "no hidden MMR" means

Under the older systems, Siege tracked a hidden skill number alongside your visible rank, and the two could drift apart. You could win a game and gain very little because your hidden rating sat below your rank. Ranked 3.0 removes that. In Ubisoft's words, your skill is now your rank.

The practical effect is that what you see is what the matchmaker sees. If you are Platinum II, you are matched as Platinum II.

How RP is won and lost

Placement matches

Every season begins with 5 placement matches before your starting rank appears. They give larger RP gains than normal games, so a strong placement run can skip you several divisions. Placements have no squad restrictions, which means you can play them with anyone. Squad limits apply once you have a rank.

Ubisoft has said it plans to keep tuning placements so they feel more meaningful, so this part may change in a later season.

Competitive rewards track

Separate from your rank, every ranked match feeds a rewards track. A win gives 2 points and a loss gives 1. Every 10 points unlocks a reward, up to 150 points, with Competitive Coins, Alpha Packs, a card background, a charm and headgear along the way. Some guides mix these points up with RP. They are not the same thing: track points only ever go up.

Rank-based rewards at season end use the highest rank you reached that season, even if you dropped afterwards.

The Legend Division

The Legend Division opened at the Y11S3 mid-season update on October 15, 2026, and runs until December 1. It is a solo queue playlist for players above Champion, using the Pro League map pool. To enter you need all of these:

  1. Current Champion rank.
  2. Platinum or higher in the previous season.
  3. Clearance level 200 or more.
  4. Reputation standing of level three or higher.
  5. App-based two-factor authentication, and Secure Boot on PC.

Every participant gets a profile banner, and the top 100 per region get an exclusive charm.

Unlocking ranked and staying safe

Ranked unlocks at clearance level 50. Ubisoft takes account sharing seriously: ahead of the Legend Division it announced a ban wave of more than 50,000 accounts aimed at account sharers, sellers and ban evaders. That is worth knowing before you hand your login to anyone, including a boosting service. No one can honestly call it risk-free.

The lower-risk option is to stay on your own account. An R6 duo boost puts a pro in your squad, within the rank limits above. If a new season is starting, R6 placement help targets the 5 games with boosted RP gains, where each win counts the most.

For a climb from your current rank to a target, see the R6 rank boost page. A pro from the team handles the games, every match is tracked, and you can follow along in the live order chat.
