Apex Legends ranked has eight tiers: Rookie, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Master and Apex Predator. Rookie to Diamond each have four divisions, from IV up to I. Every match costs Ranked Points (RP) to enter, from 0 RP in Rookie to 90 RP in Master, and you earn RP back from your placement, your kills and assists, and a few bonuses. Your kills are worth more the higher your squad finishes. This guide covers the rules in Season 30 (Marked), which run until Season 31 arrives in November 2026 with changes we list at the end.
Apex ranks, RP per division and entry costs
These figures come from EA's own ranked help page. The RP column is how much you need to move up one division inside that tier. The entry cost is what each match charges, based on the tier you are in now, not the one you are aiming for.
| Tier | Divisions | RP per division | Entry cost per match |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rookie | IV to I | 250 | 0 RP |
| Bronze | IV to I | 500 | 10 RP |
| Silver | IV to I | 500, then 750 into Gold | 20 RP |
| Gold | IV to I | 750 | 38 RP |
| Platinum | IV to I | 750, then 1,000 from Plat II up | 48 RP |
| Diamond | IV to I | 1,000 | 65 RP |
| Master | None | Open-ended | 90 RP |
| Apex Predator | Top 750 per platform | Leaderboard | 90 RP |
Apex Predator is not a separate RP target. It is the top 750 Master players on each platform. Rookie is a learning tier: once you leave it, you cannot drop back in. Ranked progress is also tracked per platform, so you can be Gold on PC and Bronze on console. PS4 and PS5 count as one platform.

How RP scoring works
Your RP after a match is your placement score plus your kill score plus any bonuses, minus the entry cost. EA's own wording is that you earn RP back if you place in the top half of the 20 squads. Finish low with no kills and you lose the full entry cost.
Placement
The higher your squad finishes out of 20, the more RP you get. Placement also sets the value of every kill you made that match, which is why a squad that dies early with five kills often earns less than a squad that sneaks into the top three with two.
Kills, assists and participation
- A kill or an assist counts as one kill.
- If your team kills someone you did not damage, you get half a kill, called a participation.
- Each kill's value depends on your final placement. Higher finish, higher value.
- After eight kills in a match, every further kill, assist and participation is worth half.
Bonuses
- Killing higher tiers. A kill on a player one tier above you adds 15% to that kill. Two tiers adds 25%, three tiers adds 35%, and four or more adds 50%.
- Top-five streaks. Two top-five finishes in a row give a 10 RP bonus. The bonus grows with the streak and reaches 40 RP by the fifth game, then stays at 40 for as long as you keep it going. Finish outside the top five and it starts over.
Heals and revives do not earn RP directly. Only placement, kills, assists and the bonuses above.
Splits and resets
Each season has two splits, and RP resets at both. At the start of a season your tier is set from your hidden ranked rating, or from your Unranked Trios rating if you are new to ranked. At the split two reset, EA lists these drops:
- Bronze resets to Bronze IV at 1,000 RP.
- Silver resets to Silver IV at 3,250 RP, and Gold to Gold IV at 5,750 RP. Both get 250 RP of demotion protection.
- Platinum resets to Platinum IV at 8,750 RP, with the same protection.
- Diamond IV and III reset to Platinum III. Diamond II and I reset to Platinum II.
- Master and Predator reset to Platinum I at 11,000 RP.
End of season rewards use the highest rank you reached in either split. Matching your split one rank in split two gets you the animated badge.
Access, parties and matchmaking
Right now, players under level 20 need to finish the Road to Ranked challenges before they can queue. Parties have rank limits: EA's example is that a Bronze player can queue with Rookie, Silver and Gold players, but not with anyone Platinum or above. Lobbies with enough Diamond, Master and Predator players use Drop Zones, where each squad is assigned a landing area instead of following a jumpmaster.
What changes in Season 31 and Season 32
Respawn has announced a ranked overhaul across the next two seasons. Season 31 is reported to start on November 5, 2026. Respawn has not shared the new RP values yet, so treat this as direction, not final numbers.
- Season 31: Road to Ranked is removed and access goes back to account level 20. Lobbies get a lobby tier, and squads two tiers below it pay a lower entry cost while squads two tiers above pay more. Diamond and higher lobbies get legend bans. Demotion protection gives three shields.
- Season 32 (early 2027): Iron replaces Rookie, Emerald is added between Platinum and Diamond, and Grandmaster becomes the top tier, with the top 750 earning a Predator badge. Iron to Emerald plays in an Open League that leans slightly more on kills. Diamond and up plays a Pro-Am League that leans on placement. Assists and participation scoring go away, and every placement gets a fixed RP value.
Getting help with a climb
Account sharing breaks EA's terms, so a boost where someone logs into your account always carries some risk, and no honest service will call it risk-free. If you would rather stay on your own account, an Apex duo boost puts a pro in your squad. Apex coaching works on rotations, fights and end-game positioning, which is where most RP is won or lost.
For a climb from your current tier to a target, see the Apex rank boost page. A pro from the team plays your matches, you can appear offline, and you follow every game in the live order chat.
